In her 1978 Volkswagen camper bus named Betty, Marie Miller is on a mission to serve, empower, and pay it forward.
As founder, owner, and operator of The Traveling Bean Mobile Coffee Experience, Miller wears many hats – but for her, this is nothing new.
After years of struggle – no car, money, or resources – she “took coffee in one hand, confidence and grit in the other,” and overcame tremendous obstacles.
This led to active duty in the U.S. Army and serving overseas as a civilian contractor for the Department of Defense, followed by success in corporate America and later teaching at colleges and universities. The long hours and travel took a toll, and Miller realized she needed to make a change.
So in 2018, she developed a business plan to focus on serving in a different way, and she took her idea to the streets over a year ago.
Miller's website makes clear her vision “to give back and empower those with little or no support, resources, or advocacy…to help support veterans, women, and good humans.”
